Italy: An Economic Profile

There are some interesting differences between Italy and the previous countries we've profiled thus far. First, Italy, like Hungary, has not changed its level of government spending over the past couple of years. However, Italy's exports are even versus Hungary's (up 40% from before recession). Could this be an impact of the euro bloc currency versus independent currency? More analysis is required. Although Italy's unemployment is 10%, many experts agree it will be Europe's fastest rising unemployment rate of 2013.
