The Death of Savings Visualized
It's unfortunate to think that there is a competition in our financial markets between debt and savings. However, the Federal Reserve is working to make debt financing cheaper, at the expense of the individuals financing it.
The below chart shows the CD rate curves from now, one year ago, five years ago, and ten years ago. Keep in mind that ten years ago, we were in the depths of a recession and it was those rates that caused a bubble.
